Α series of capacity building trainings on the integration of migrants in inclusive cities and societies have been organized by Symbiosis-School of Political Studies in Greece, Council of Europe Network, in Ioannina from 23 to 25 January 2023, within the EC AMIF project Accessing Services, Sharing Approaches and Practices (ASAP). These activities were conducted in cooperation with the Arbeiter Samariter Bund (ASB) and the Municipality of Ioannina.
The first capacity-building training was addressed to public service providers and representatives of local authorities, while the second was addressed to civil society organisations, migrants and refugees. Aiming to develop the knowledge and the skills of the participants regarding social inclusion, the educational activities covered a wide range of topics. The training modules were delivered by experts who focused on topics such as integration, social inclusion, access to citizenship and participation, legal issues, development of intercultural competences, education, orientation and access to the labour market, equality, and gender-based violence. The active participation of the participants, who shared comments and personal experiences, enhanced the dialogue and the fruitful reflection on the specific thematic areas.
