Within the framework of the EMV-LII project, a series of training activities for local government officials was held in October 2024. The initiative was implemented by Symbiosis – the Council of Europe School of Political Studies in Greece, in cooperation with the Heraklion Development Agency and the Regional Observatory for Social Inclusion of the Region of Crete. Participants included representatives from the three municipalities of the wider Heraklion area, as well as from the Region of Crete.
The workshops focused on enhancing intercultural competencies and addressing discrimination, with particular emphasis on fostering participation and developing local integration strategies. The initiative aimed to equip local government officials with practical tools to promote more inclusive communities and strengthen social cohesion at the local level.
