The Women Advocacy Training, held from December 9 to 11, 2024, at the Social Space – Kalokairinou Foundations, Odysseas Elytis’ Hall, offered a focused 12-hour program aimed at strengthening participants’ ability to tackle key issues affecting women. Over the course, participants engaged in interactive workshops that addressed the underlying causes and effects of gender inequality and harmful discourse, while enhancing their knowledge of legal protections and social policies that defend the rights of women, children, and youth. The training was developed to co-empower participants, enabling them to confidently speak up for their needs and priorities on local integration strategies and beyond, addressing authorities and decision-makers. It also promoted inclusive approaches to increase migrant women’s participation in social and civic spheres, combined with practical methods for providing frontline support to those experiencing gender-based violence in vulnerable situations.
